  1. General Description
    1. CO2 Laser.
    2. Emits infrared radiation at wavelength λ = 10.6 μm
    3. Class IV Laser. Used to burn holes through things. Can seriously burn skin & burst retina.
    4. Always wear safety goggles that will block 10.6 μm light
  2. Simplified Operating Instructions
    1. Turning on the laser:
      1. Turn on the laser warning light.
      2. Move the Shutter switch to the open position
      3. Turn on the DC Power supply
      4. Turn the keyswitch to the on position. The power LED should light up.
      5. If the keyswitch was already on, turn it off then back on again to reset things.
      6. The "LASE LED" should dimly light up for about 5 seconds.
      7. Apply a PWM command signal (+5VDC, 5kHz square wave) to the laser's CTRL connector.
      8. Slowly increase the duty cycle of the signal. The "LASE LED" should get brighter.
    2. Turning off the laser:
      1. Reduce the PWM duty cycle. The "LASE LED" should get dimmer again.
      2. Move the Shutter Switch to the closed position.
      3. Turn off the DC Power supply.
